Does a calculator do a significant amount of statistical analysis and base its output on the most probable result from a massive data set?
No. That would be stupid.
People taking the response from LLMs at face value is a problem, which is the point of the discussion, but disregarding it entirely would be equally dumb. Critical thinking would include knowing when and where to use a specific tool instead of trying to force one to be universal.
