Forgive me if I’ve misunderstood the application, but could the tripwire not just completed a circuit by its removal? As in, a spring-loaded switch, it’s contacts separated by an insulator, the insulator is yanked out by the tripwire?

Probably, I used the term “Tripwire” as an example with relation to the circuit, in this application the intention is that a wire will be cut with snipe.
