  Better Minecraft. Which you’d think would be incredibly easy to do, but the project has already basically failed before. My guess from all I’ve seen over the years is this is a real personal project for the dev rather than something that was ever actually intended to be released and getting a release is just a cool bonus for them.

    Minecraft has a gigantic base of players and modders, a “better” Minecraft would need to draw a similar crowd or convince them all to give up years of customization and optimization to switch en masse.

    Hard to imagine any game pulling it off without going F2P, which, bleh.

  I think it’s like Cube World and Minecraft had a baby. It’s been developed with the intention of being modding friendly too. I don’t know though I’m with the devs on this one, it doesn’t look that great and I think the combat looks really unsatisfying.

  Hytale was developed by the largest Minecraft Server out of a fear that Minecraft had become too stagnant and was going to lose player, it was meant as a replacement for Minecraft

  Not sure the devs do either. The gameplay seemed interesting, but it appeared to be a lot of Minecraft mechanics.

    Hytale was developed as the successor to Minecraft when big Minecraft Updates seemingly stopped.
    It has been developed by the largest Minecraft Server out of a fear that Minecraft had become too stagnant and was going to lose player, it was meant as a replacement for Minecraft. So obviously it’s going to be similar.
