Comment on What is the point of posting on the fediverse if it is going to be moderated similarly to Reddit?

“installing” mods? What do you mean?
You can start your own instance right now, throw a community together, invite people over and have a grand old time. In fact, thats how it all is.
Lemmy.world is an awesome instance, but maybe try a couple of instances and see what you like. Its ok to “shop” around per-say. Have fun and enjoy the fedi!

How about no? A lot of us gathered at Lemmy expecting something new and encouraging. What we got is just the same old dogshit.

Then you switched for the wrong reasons.
You could always go back.
Or start your own server.

Oh so what you're basically saying is that you like the idea of sitting in your own shit, don't will for anything to improve and for anyone that points it out and wishes for change - you tell them that?
Yeah, insightful...not really.

They’re explicitly not saying that.

That is fairly unique to the fediverse.
If you would like to watch something we have https://piefed.social/f/fediversevideos which is connected to a huge collection of peertube videos.
And !wholesome@reddthat.com has some great content.
Each one of these communities have some great moderators, an awesome community, and fairly unique to the fediverse. Each one comes from 3 separate instances that have done a fantastic job keeping everything running.
Theres good in the fedi. Im having a great time. Go out there and explore. Lots of great communities and people!

The decentralization is the new and interesting aspect. If that doesn’t matter to you then lemmy might not offer what you’re looking for.
