  Not research, but artistic! And the article said the volunteers were unsolicited, so they were (presumably) happy to contribute to the cause!

      I actually chose my words very carefully because I wasn’t sure either. Unpaid? Or the women volunteered without even being asked? I’d normally think the latter, but it seems pretty bizarre!
