Comment on Nearly 90% of Windows Games now run on Linux, latest data shows
Truscape@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 months agoTrue, but getting us privacy-concious folks to use any version of windows, even the most palatable (Enterprise IOT LTSC, which is impossible for an individual to acquire through official channels) is a hard sell. I’m still only using Win10 IOT LTSC for VR game support, but I’m just biding my time. Already switched all of my other devices off windows.

Why would privacy-conscious folks run a system that’s largely being developed by Microsoft, Red Hat and the NSA instead of a BSD?

It’s literally the entire purpose of that particular device.
Also personalized threat model, yadda yadda, use Tails for any information access or discussion that’s high risk, utilize a normal Linux distro that can be audited so you know nothing sneaks up on your machine, etc etc.
I looked through your comment history. Instigators and trolls don’t deserve friendly answers. So here’s my actual answer:
I use the software most relevant for my use cases and my personal security model. Because of that, Windows is bottom on the priority list for installs. You got a problem with that? Go fuck yourself.
