      Republicans have supported the systematic stabilization of Latin America. They’ve supported the drug war, coups, etc. Democrats share a lot of the blame for this, but nowhere near as much as the republicans.

      And the second half is that any time there is an attempt at immigration reform, republicans kill it, therefore killing any resolution to the problem. You can’t moderate something you don’t control. On this part, republicans share nearly 100% of the fault.

      Cartels, drug trafficers, and criminals will always attempt to cross the border no matter what because of the lucrative opportunities, and the disregard for the law. And the people trying to escape Latin America for their own safety will always attempt to cross because their countries have been destabilized. “Just secure the border” will not solve the root problem, because the issue is way more complicated than that. That’s all republicans ever want to do, throw money at border security while ignoring the actual cause.
