Comment on Easter can't come soon enough.
ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 5 days agoAll the seasonal candy is made like half a year in advance. They can’t sell it after the holiday so it’s better for them to make and ship it early. That gives them a buffer time-wise. Imagine some delay and all the candy only hit stores after the holiday? Straight into the trash. Which is why you shouldn’t buy seasonal candy.

Okay, fair, but reese’s holiday versions are straight up better. Not in price per unit, those fucking suck, but the easter and christmas versions are way better than their normal ones. Maybe it’s just the ratio, or they put more sugar in or something, but I swear the trees/pumpkins/eggs are noticeably tastier.

I always attributed it to the peanut butter to chocolate ratio, until someone pointed out that the holiday ones are fresher than the regular ones. Everyone saying they’re from last year, I think is flat out wrong. Even if the get made and shipped to stores 3 months early, that’s still WAY more fresh than the regular cups that have been sitting in the gas station for 2+ years
