    Problem with that other commenter’s comment was it was too broad a statement. And lets be honest, a bit obnoxious for it. The US may do it for every game, but there’s plenty of examples where other country’s sports use their anthems, AFL uses it for at least finals and ANZAC rounds, I’d expect that’s the same for NRL.

    My example the other day was a quickly found one, I equated them as both international events. After all, this is US wrestling in Australia, granted not against Aus, but still in Aus. And here is where I go back to my original reaction, is it more a sport, or more an entertainment? And is that the defining difference that caused the booing?

  Playing national anthems at a national team game? Shocking!

  Show me evidence it happens every week at every stadium in Aussie Rules games and then it’ll be a gotcha.
