While I fully understand the need for devs to support older hardware, this is also a very low cost upgrade that has a massive impact on user experience. Hell, for 20 something years now there have been articles about how getting an SSD (now nvme) is the biggest noticeable performance improvement someone can do.

As for the topic at hand: I like that they support older systems. But this is also similar to language packs (and high res textures back in the day) where it REALLY should be handled via an opt-in DLC-like system. Because the reason people “need” massive amounts of storage on their gaming systems is BECAUSE of stuff like this.
