Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 3 weeks agoI’m 100% for encouraging people to use other means to view the content of people who they don’t agree with. It’s absolutely a shit system where you have to contribute to someone’s views and engagement just to be critical of them.

You already can view his content without contributing. Just use an adblocker. But when you encourage others to watch people who steal his content and don’t make fair use content you are instead intentionally causing harm to the creator, which the creator has a right to sue over.
So people can be critical and not contribute. This is about intentional harm and getting caught doing it.

Ya I don’t agree with that. But I also don’t agree with giving a shit if content creators get paid. They contributed to so much of the issues we have today. They can all get fucked. They’re the worst and if the Internet becomes a hostile place to those parasites we’ll all be better off
