Lfrith@lemmy.ca 21 hours agoIt is too social for me. I’m not interested in a platform that tends to push people to put a face or name behind an account. I prefer it to just be like the conversation we are having now where you are just another random user name.
And I perceive more positives to not using social media like tiktok, twitter, or Instagram with huge corporate backing than using it. So no thank you. And times those social media even comes up as a useful search result has been pretty much zero.

Well, we do live in a social world, and regardless of what people will tell you, the Internet is not fake, it’s very real, but I’m not going to try to convince you to check it out, just let you know that you are missing some quality information content, and maybe new favorite people that you wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to.

I’m no interested in tiktok. I don’t need tiktok for a social connection. I wasn’t here for a recruitment to tiktok, but just answering your initial question of providing a viewpoint to those that dislike it. I respect your right to use tiktok or any other alternatives. It just happens to be not for me.
