Comment on Pope Leo puts the brake on Church reforms

To be honest, unsurprising. I actually like the straightforward and transparantly pragmatistic viewpoint he has; maybe I’d like him to be more progressive, but I think he is behaving with a viewpoint that’s motivated by trying to manage the reality of the situation : these topics are hot button issues that he feels can be addressed later or by other means, while not explicitly being against or for the issues themselves.
Is it right? I don’t know. But at least he is plain about what he’s doing and why he’s doing it that way.

Meh, fuck him. “Doing the right thing will make traditionalists upset, so I’m not going to push us to do the right thing”
Catholic church is a shitty fucking cult anyways.

Sure. That’s your take. But at least he isn’t like Ratzinger and outright pushing from the other end.

What’s the difference with Ratzinger? They all follow the same word of god, “no gays” and all the other things in the bible that no one can change ever.

Paraphrased general vibes of the most recent 3 popes on these topics :
Benedict 16: “No gays, scripture is clear”
Francis : “I want everyone to be in the church, I don’t care if they’re gay or not, we need to move forward for acceptance”
Leo 14 : “I don’t have issue with gays; for it to be official church doctorine, we need to sort out this attitude within the clergy first, then we can begin the outreach”
