Genuinely curious. I'm aware the term is often used as a pejorative. Is this for people who feel they fall into that group, or anyone who technically qualifies (someone who was just laid off and is now unemployed, and wasn't receiving education or training)? What are the boundaries of NEET for the purposes of this community?

Don’t overthink it.
There is not a lot of boundaries, same as the NEET Reddit community.

I didn't browse r/NEET so I figured I'd ask here. Just took a look and it seems to be people suffering from the stigma, would I be correct?

More or less, yes.
I think the NEET community on Reddit had changed by a lot(I personally think about it five years ago compared to now), that is why I might not be able to explain to you exactly what I meant when I said that my community does not have a lot of boundaries as the Reddit community.
but on here I want the community to have a wider lens than just ranting.
The short version here, is that there is a great amount of culture that is unexplored/ not widely talked about around this topic.
For example, in china they would call it lying flat, in Japan they call it Hikkomori.
I hope my community bring a sound to the NEETs and explore the evolution of that culture around it.
