It’s a pretty common motif in those—in addition to the vending machine, we’ve had a slime, a spider, a goblin, and a sword, and those are just the ones that got made into anime. “Reborn as a Dragon’s Egg” is coming up in a couple of seasons. Pretty sure I’ve run across a summary for a light novel about being reborn as a stick, which probably takes the prize.

I’ve already seen the manga where a guy was reborn as a sex toy and I thought I’ve seen everything. Let’s see what Japan throws at me next.
