Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 6 days agoGood point about Canada. They flipped. Meaning the conservatives were in the lead by a lot. The only thing that stopped them was Trump fucking up. This is the same almost everywhere. The Lefts victory’s have not been because of their policy or engagement with the people. The left has been winning only when the right fuck up. Any other time the right has captured dominant positions in many key areas. Vice versa, the left are hobbling themselves at every turn while slowly dismantling themselves. I have no doubt Lemmy is targeted and manipulated by groups looking to convince the left to eat itself.

But you’re right, the left has been infiltrated and manipulated to focus on minorities and identity politics instead of things that benefit everyone, like increased wages, corporate regulations, corporate taxes, worker’s rights. You don’t hear too much about those these days. Maybe because the media doesn’t talk about those lefties. Maybe it’s in the media’s interest to only show you what they want you to see.
