The cop's reaction was completely appropriate. She was trying to break through a barricade designed to protect law enforcement in a hallway, who were standing between the rioters and lawmakers.

In 2016, a number of congressmen broke the rules to try to contest the election. It's a matter of public record.

Those congressmen didn't resort to violence, but at the very least they should be disqualified as lawmakers due to the insurrection clause.
