I guess the answer is apparently a shit ton of losers with no lives of their own.
I feel insulted that I’ve even been forced to be made aware of this over the last 48 hours.

It isn’t helpful to think of them as losers. Like the image says, no bread all circuses. Without making any inferences about these two people pictured, the media and public focus on their engagement is in the service of maintaining and strengthening the status quo power structures.
Resist the urge to dismiss this as crank conspiracy thinking. There is a system, even if it wasn’t designed and even if it isn’t organized. And the media is by and large a tool of that system.
