Yeah, I’m subscribed to over 4000 channels so that keeps my home screen popping with a lot of channels. I’m already currently subscribed to, but you’re right it is a lot of garbage to go through.

echodot@feddit.uk 1 week agoThere’s loads of quality content on YouTube. You just have to create your subscriber list and not pay attention to the Home tab, which is, and always has been, utter garbage.

I’m not hating or anything—and you’re right, at least with what I’ve seen I do get a lot of shorts based on what I personally subscribe to. I don’t always get that but the ones I like I already recognize who they’re from. I was mainly just pointing out how its changed over time to have shorter videos. People still make longer vids, yes. All I’m saying is once upon a time, people were fighting to get longer videos. It’s just silly to me that now because Google has to “compete” with TikTok, they purposefully embed this kind of thing on their platform which, as I say, is just silly to me. No hate… just silly.
