Comment on What is piefed?
ccunning@lemmy.world 2 days agoThis is a great comment; my initial reaction was “No because it would be easy to claim others OC was your own” but then the same could be said about text or link contributions.
Then I thought “well maybe reputation should only be based on comments” but that could be unfair to those who primarily post vs comment.
So now I don’t know what my position is. The best method is probably a blend of multiple strategies that can only be determined by engaging with the enemy.

Generally oc forward subs are very stringent about it truly being OC and if caught posting something that isn’t theirs will face consequences
Blurry pics of a cat’s right up on the lens is low effort. Any pictures you see posted in a place like lemmy.world/c/astrophotography will not be low effort because those are removed. They also require the submissions to be OC
