Looks like Cantharellus lateritius. Very tasty.
TIL there “smooth chanterelles” are a thing.
Yes there are many species depending on the local area.
I knew the black chantrelles don’t have many veins but we don’t get any of the smooth orange species up in WA.
Yeah they’re endemic to the eastern US. I’m not sure which species you have up there.
