Jenseitsjens@lemmy.world 11 hours agoPretty sure that’s a load-reduction measure due to AI scraping. Git history produces a ton of links which scrapers traverse through and generate load. I’m pretty sure just cloning the repo with git over https works fine.

Jami is an old project and every time I revisit it there’s some strong smell of things not being right one way or the other. Even before it became p2p and was the SIP client sflphone it was doing funky stuff such as notifying about non existent calls.
Which is to bad because they have good ideas but terrible execution
