@kugiigi Yes! It's less helpful to debug QML-only with it, but if you're accessing some crashy C++ class using QML you will immediately see where you are in the call stack once you put a program through the paces.
Comment on [How to] Debug Clicks, Snaps and OS components on an Ubuntu Touch device

I've never used GDB and Valgrind and I don't have much experience using proper debugging tools. Can these help debugging bugs in Qt/QML apps or even system components like Lomiri and the keyboard?

as far as I know, it's not possible to debug system components without turning the rootfs r/w. I know because I tried to fix some problem, compiled a package with crossbuilder and found out that using the 'deploy' command of crossbuilder turned the rootfs r/w.
So it's not possible to install - and debug - Lomiri components on an UT phone without turning the rootfs read/write.
So the idea of using snap to install tools without having to turn the rootfs r/w turns out to be not so useful in practice when dealing with system components. It can be useful for debugging clicks.

@gpatel-fr Thanks. But I just meant these tools in general. I think it's given that installing custom builds will need RW 😄
I'm debugging a bug in Lomiri right now but it's not a crash or such but a behavior bug and I can't fix it 😅
