Do you think having post tags would be helpful on Lemmy? Why or why not?

Yes, although the search is pretty great, it’s the scrolling down the list for certain communities that I want to go to that is a pain in the butt. Having tags like reddit where it seems like they’re categories but in reality are tags, is what would help with the situation because I can then hopefully search tags as well within the communities. It just adds another layer.

How should tags be displayed and integrated into Lemmy?

I like the idea of tags for the community and then tags for everyone to add within the community.

This is a dream request, but I would love it if you could save tags at the top like in RES old but for general stuff and/or actual communities. So like in Mastodon, you can subscribe to an entire category like “USnews” and every community and post with “USnews” would show up under that tag. I would press that tag and instant feed of that topic. People would block communities if they used it incorrectly or spammy.

On the top row you could also edit and save your top communities you go to, now I have to scroll through my subscriptions. So my top row as an example could say (should be able to edit it how it looks, this is just to show content): USnews (group tag) Politics.lemmyworld (specific community) WorldNews (group tag) Art( group tag) Reddit.Lemmworld (specific community) AskLemmy.lemmyworld (specific community)
