benjaminb@discuss.tchncs.de 9 months agoAs a “mechanic” myself, I can say: many people mean, if we wouldn’t have the TÜV (car inspection) every 2 years in Germany, they would neglect so much! I’m talking, no oil change, no new tires, even with barely any profile left, no new brakes…

Ehrlich gesagt bin ich mir nicht sicher, weil ich nur alte Autos fahre (jüngstes Baujahr 2012). Nach Recherche würde ich aber sagen: Ja, man muss auch mit Neuwagen alle 2 Jahre zum TÜV.

Same in the UK. We have an annual MOT tests and even with that some drivers let their cars slide so much.
