Comment on US moves to protect all species of pangolin, world's most trafficked mammal

People eat them don’t they? If they raise some for meat they won’t be endangered, seems like a lucrative endeavor if they’re so in demand. I’ve seen other people say raising tiger for meat would prevent their extinction too but pangolins look easier to raise and, frankly, more edible.

Honestly I bet they’re delicious, those plates would soften up if boiled and then you could deep fry the rinds, yum. Fairly chonky critters too, so definitely some good cuts of well-marbled meat. All those ants and grubs they eat would probably give the meat an unforgettable, delectable, craveable flavor. Between goose and turkey size so you could have one on Thanksgiving. Could pangolin break into the top 5 most eaten meats? Easily the top 10.

I will let you know when I eat my first pangolin, hopefully one raised in America.
