Comment on YSK: Bluetooth Controller Lag in Retroarch Can Be Fixed With Game Mode on TV and a Few Settings in Retroarch

I find this kinda… Bullshit.
Bluetooth controller’s lag does not get lowered by by turning on game mode on your tv. All you did was lower the response time of your tv to display the image quicker ( by turning off some image processing ). Your bluetooth controller will still lag lol.

As for the settings in retroarch, that could change when it’ll process the input and can lower the lag, but without a list of the settings, im calling bs there too

I’ll be the first to admit I have no idea how any of what I posted works, but I do know it works. Maybe the tv game mode didn’t do anything for my Bluetooth, and maybe the other settings I changed did. All I do know is my gaming experience is so much more responsive now. And if any of this helps other people, then all the more better. 🤷‍♂️

  I get that, but imo thats dangerous. I will admit i live for tech and i get the basics of it all but understanding it is imo important when changing such settings because it can create other issues too.
  
  But maybe im not the correct person to remark on this because i have a distaste for retroarch :p

    If it were 25-30 years ago, when there was a risk of physically damaging (i.e. blowing up) hardware, and I’d agree with you. But in this case, the worst is manage is to have to reconfigure things back to their defaults.
    
    As for retroarch, what would be your suggested alternative?

    Even today i find it important as the knowledge of how things work is vanishing and many just accept it works. But how will we build upon an idea if everyone forgets how it works?
    There is also the idea within software that layers of bodgework upon one another creates overcomplex and unstable software. Thats everything but software you want to ship.
    I understand you dont want all hobby work to reach professional levels, specially if youre trying something new! Thats ok!
    
    Its just once you reach a certain level things have to change to make it not suck, dont build on that :')
    Also one of the reasons i dont like retroarch.
    But i will accept they fill a need that is very much wanted and needed by people and there isnt really anything like it
