Thanks for the heads up about the default blocks, I didn’t notice that and not too happy about it. But I’m having a great experience overall so far.

I think it is a great compromise between defederation and being more palatable to less extremely minded people. Anyone who wants to can still unblock the instances, and this way their users at least get to show up in outside communities and posts for everyone.
