Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 weeks agoNo one has been doing that kind of claims directly since… TW3 actually ? Or maybe Watch Dogs. Epic Games and CDPR know that every content creator under the sun will run with that and make these claims for them to start the hype machine.

Yeah… I was going to say this can blow up on their face if the game isn’t that good, but even when it happened with Cyberpunk 2077, they still made tons of money, and everyone seems to have forgotten that it ever happened, so maybe it won’t really matter to them.
