Comment on When a person follows you and watches your every move, it's called stalking. When companies like Meta do it, it's just called collecting user data.

  Not when each point is matched to a unique machine (i.e. user) ID. It’s not anonymous, it’s “anonymized” which is just snake oil (replace your actual name with a unique ID).

  Also, I find ad targeting bad enough all by itself.
