Comment on France to tighten mobile phone ban in middle schools
sexy_peach@feddit.org 3 days agoRelax. Your inability to limit your own smartphone usage isn’t my problem.
Most jobs nowadays have smartphones integrated into the workflow, even entry jobs.
I had a windows mobile 2003 device and used it under my desk in school. That was quite some time ago.
I get it that kids are distracted and have short attention spans. I suggest we try other solutions.

I like how you are accusing sb on their own smartphone usage and then counter with your personal smartphone experience. You do realise both of them have the same weight behind them, right?
And adults are not projecting their own frustration. Children and Teens are missing the critical experience to spot the dark pattern smartphones employ. The adults that speak up against them don’t do this out of personal shortcomings but to protect the vulnerable.
Your argument is fundamentally flawed. If an ex-heroin addict tells you don’t do H, do you also not take their word because they were just weak and you surely would not get addicted like them?" Get off your high horse and reconsider your position.

Heroin and a smartphone is hardly comparable

Well it’s a rather pointed example to get my point across but you may happily replace it with any addiction. Maybe alcohol? Maybe weed? How about sugar?

It’s just like a bad habit
