The range is actually 1.4-0.9v with drop only at the end of the discharge cycle. Much better than regular AA that drops voltage proportionally to the discharge level. Also more amps than alkaline and no leakage.

Self discharge is a thing and putting it in clock or led candle is just doing it wrong. Use alkaline for these use cases.
