It’s originally a game series. I have a friend that is a big fan of the games and convinced me to watch the anime adaptation that aired Summer 2023 and I was entirely underwhelmed. The anime never really escaped a very obvious game structure and it kind of just felt like a less interactive version of a pretty standard game rather than an interesting story. YMMV, but I do think it telling that the series is most well known for its art and Ryza’s thighs than for exciting gameplay and engaging stories.
