Chiming in as an instance admin. The larger the instance the slower federation becomes as it has to send the data to every instance that it federates with, if you’re a small instance just starting out federating with Lemmy.world for example is extremely slow as you’re essentially last in line to receive any data.
Hmm it started during the issues sh.itjust.works 4-5 days ago. Of course it can still be a federation issue stemming from that, I think? I’m admittedly not super knowledgeable about this stuff compared to others.

I switched to my Lemmy.world account and checked there. I can’t see anything for more days then from my itjust.works instance.

The larger the instance the slower federation becomes as it has to send the data to every instance that it federates with, if you’re a small instance just starting out federating with Lemmy.world for example is extremely slow as you’re essentially last in line to receive any data.
I have also noticed holes in federation, for instance a community I created !ca_firearms_rights@lemmy.halstead.host federates with sh.itjust.works fine but not Lemmy.world (haven’t figured out why).
Give it time, hopefully correct itself.

I would have thought that blahaj and sh.itjust.works were both large enough to not experience taking over a week to federate with each other?
