barrygoldwater@lemmy.wtf 2 days agoI haven’t seen any of that. But I would ask: If you aren’t conservative, then why be in a conservative community? You know you will disagree with everything posted. Wouldn’t it be easier just to block it?

I’m not so delicate that I can’t encounter ideas that I don’t agree with. I see it because it comes up in “all”. I post good faith comments and expect a good faith response, you know a conversation. I get misinform, lies and insults, then all of my good faith comments are removed. If it’s an echo bunker of misinformation and lies that doesn’t welcome opposing opinions then just be honest about it and make the community private,unless of course it’s just bad faith trolling.

But someone who posts an conservative article in a conservative community is under no obligation to have to discuss it. Many like it, post it, and move on.
And from what I see on Lemmy, that perfectly describes Lemmy as a whole.
Also, as far as I know, there is no way to make a community private. I WISH there was though. Or if there is, please tell me how to do it.
