absentbird@lemm.ee 1 year agoMaybe, but I could see thunderbolt replacing HDMI and display port over time. It can carry video, audio, data, and power simultaneously, and has more bandwidth for additional information like HDR or 3D.

USB can do that as well, using Displayport alt mode. And it doesn’t need Intel’s fees.

It’s REALLY important for adoption. An open standard is far more likely to be used.
