This is a reliable explainer for it www.food.gov.uk/safety-hygiene/bpa-in-plastic (tldr: less than 0.2µg is considered safe daily dosage per kg of body weight. BPA is used to make plastics rigid, but can be disruptive to the endocrine system if too much is absorbed into the body.) (Now I know why plastics are called BPA free now. But if they’re not using BPA what are they using?)
