I know it’s a romcom, but I didn’t expect it to be gag humor. I identified Zombieland Saga, Evangelion, Kaguya-sama and perhaps Kimi ni Todoke references here. And it also uses Konosuba-type eyecatches.

I think it’s the first time the first scene by itself sold the series for me. Forget the three-episode rule. This is promising.

This must be one of the hardest series to subtitle. Not only you have to translate from Standard Japanese, but you have to grasp Okinawan and give a sense of the language barrier a mainlander might face. I’ll also recommend Aquatope on White Sand for more Okinawa immersion
