It was bad enough that the 24/7 store Union had to close as well T_T
The post-credits skit is funny as heck. Also meta, partially explaining why the anime (even the manga, maybe) exists.

That’s one packed episode. The Void they need to defeat got really close to devouring the last Soul Future. Thankfully, Natsuko set aside her ego and played a supporting role this time. Justice stopped moping around and decided to do something to help, and so the truth on why he left the Nine Soldiers is out.
The chemistry between Luke and Natusko implies the former is based on her high-school crush, as the preview of the next episode seemed to imply. Additionally, it seems we’ll get substantial “real-life” scenes next week.

What an episode, first one is Teru rizzing up Higa and Kyan when he tried to kneel. Him being drunk is so funny as well.
The best part is the typhoon segment. It’s hilarious seeing how he reacts to an Okinawan typhoon for the first time. And the last scene… oh shiiii—

Violet Evergarden being the first (serious) anime I watched spoiled me… the visual belies a lack of effort in the visuals. Or maybe because a lot of generic isekais have a similar artstyle.

Hubris comes before the fall, as Justice, a former Nine Solder, told Natsuko. We finally depart from the episodic format as butterfly effects reveal aspects of the Tale of Perishing universe that Natsuko was never aware of.
Gotta say, reusing Natsuko’s ability sequence is very smart. Not only it looks very pretty, but it reduces the cuts the animators have to draw.

Due to a misunderstanding/language-barrier, Teru and Higa ended up hanging out with each other to buy some clothes (a date???). The Okinawan shirts look like Hawaiian, but there are subtle references. Great episode.
The Okinawan songs in the EDs are very chill and laid-back.

Two episodes in, I now consider Zenshu the most visually stunning Mappa anime. I wished it wasn’t an isekai, but Natsuko is different that she wants to return. What turns me off in many isekai is that they could have worked just as fine as generic fantasy.

Surrounded by beaches, the locals appreciate it for the visuals. They don’t like swimming there though, it makes their bodies sticky, and they hate it.
