Due to a misunderstanding/language-barrier, Teru and Higa ended up hanging out with each other to buy some clothes (a date???). The Okinawan shirts look like Hawaiian, but there are subtle references. Great episode.
The Okinawan songs in the EDs are very chill and laid-back.

Two episodes in, I now consider Zenshu the most visually stunning Mappa anime. I wished it wasn’t an isekai, but Natsuko is different that she wants to return. What turns me off in many isekai is that they could have worked just as fine as generic fantasy.

Surrounded by beaches, the locals appreciate it for the visuals. They don’t like swimming there though, it makes their bodies sticky, and they hate it.

Hard disagree. The plot of the movie is an unlikely, yet plausible occurrence. Doing what they did in the movie works as a nice sendoff to Violet’s story. Yes, I’m biased because the payoff is some of the happiest I have experienced in fiction.

Just before the climax, Violet dealt with loss and resolved to finally move on from Gilbert. The Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll movie hinted that she wasn’t completely at peace with being unable to see Gilbert, based from her conversations with Amy.

I know it’s a romcom, but I didn’t expect it to be gag humor. I identified Zombieland Saga, Evangelion, Kaguya-sama and perhaps Kimi ni Todoke references here. And it also uses Konosuba-type eyecatches.
I think it’s the first time the first scene by itself sold the series for me. Forget the three-episode rule. This is promising.
This must be one of the hardest series to subtitle. Not only you have to translate from Standard Japanese, but you have to grasp Okinawan and give a sense of the language barrier a mainlander might face. I’ll also recommend Aquatope on White Sand for more Okinawa immersion
