Nice conclusion to the series. It’s a solid slice of life/friendship anime and managed to make the full use of its 1-cour length. I really like it when the pacing is just right.
Make sure you don’t miss the post-credits scene.

Of what I’ve watched, it’s Dandadan and Frieren. If I have to pick a best one, it’s the latter. Its fanservice is so subtle you won’t notice if you are not aware.

Unless it has substantial anime-original scenes and increased production value. Closest analogy would be how Tamako Love Story concluded Tamako Market. I personally hope to see it happen. The manga’s ending is found wanting.

Not a fan of the Seven Deadly Frames-esque battle sequence, but it does seem like the go-to technique of portraying fluid battle movements (see: Pain vs. Naruto). Doesn’t change that I don’t like it.
That reveal that Stark killed the dragon though. That’s good.

A typhoon hit Tokyo, so no fishing this time. But the whole gang is in Everymart to spend time, and an impromptu party started. It was a good time, and goofiness ensued. Having hot pot must be really delicious at a weather like that.
It was Hiro’s shift, so he took the time to practice his FG knot as there would be no expected customers. The loan sharks arrived at some point. They were in bad shape because they have to brave the weather, but Hiro helped them out. Turns out, that’s what made him pay back his debt :)
Hiro struggled with the knot, but he ultimately succeeded. He should be able to catch the bigger fish next time.

The best episode in the show so far. It’s low key emotional. Machida’s singular focus on fishing estranged him from his wife and kid. Yuu-kun, his son, loves him still and wants to spend as much time as possible. It’s an impossibility with their family circumstances, so Machida reluctantly gave him a deal: he’ll return if Yuu catches a 50-cm fish. He’s a quick learner, and with the help of Machida replacing the string with a thicker one, Yuu manages to catch one. But that means his day with his father would end, and that saddens him so. Being a kid of separated parents sucks.
A seasoned anime watcher may find the bridge familiar, because that’s the one that leads to March Town. Perhaps you may find one of the Kawamoto sisters nearby.
