Read somewhere it’ll be a multimedia project. It seems to be primed to be a gacha game someday.

The OG BanG Dream series. Born too late to define the CGDCT genre (that went to K-On). Born too early to radicalize it (that went to Bocchi the Rock). MyGO!!! and Ave Mujica, fortunately, capitalized on the post-Bocchi surge of girls band genre.

Perinne Monogatari. I find this the superior series to Nobody’s Boy Remi. Both overlapped in the seasons they aired.

Akane Evangelion’ed the crap out of “Jugemu”. Yes, that’s how it felt like. Masterful in-universe performance by Akane and also out-of-universe by her VA.
It’s a very simple story, but it bears repeating the basics of how it’s originally told.
- Dad wants to give his son an auspicious name because of infant mortality
- The priest suggested a large number of choices. The dad pretty much took the supercharged ‘¿por que no los
dostodos?’ option. - Hilarity ensues when everyone has to recite his full name.
- It was not so funny when Jugemu, etc. etc. died because he drowned.
spoiler
Akane deconstructed the story structure and thoroughly explained the ‘why’ to the audience. In addition, also let herself disappear so they can fully immerse to the story. The kicker was her plot twist that Jugemu knows how to swim and saved himself, keeping the story as close to the original while staying as a comedy. I was just like the audience in this case.
The banner should be fitting:

A cute dragon-cat voiced by DIO’s voice actor is peak gap moe.

You probably require to watch this episode several times to appreciate what’s going on. On my first watch, it appeared to be dull slice-of-life with the Morfonica girls. However, small mistakes and sneaky changes are introduced as the episode progresses. This is where the fun part starts.

I think it might be a good idea to tell us what series you didn’t like so we know how low the bar is.
I find The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya a little below the bar when it comes to portraying women versus IRL.

Totally slipped from my mind that the manga is a Shounen Jump manga. Your concern on the long-term trajectory of the story is valid. Shounen Jump isn’t well known for properly ending manga.

It’s not rare or medium-rare, at least 😆

Issho’s retcon is not only continuing, but accelerating, and has gone from disappointing to revolting.
I think it is appropriate to his character as the current master in the field. He’s… to put in a certain way, “more accommodating” to the newbies, because that was what the audience demands. This stance is him putting a different mask appropriate for the current time. That also means, he’s willing to flip-flop on his definition of “good rakugo” based on the outcome. I don’t think he’s doing it out of malice; he just cares a lot about the art form and probably is anxious at the prospect of it dying in the future. That doesn’t erase the risk that his personal identity and brand of rakugo would get erased in the process. It would also be grating to the witnesses of his previous hardline standards that included expelling potential shin’uchis out of the blue.
This episode is more subdued. Akane’s VA really sold the bland version of Jugemu well to me. My instinct was “this is boring”, but it appeared to be intentional. It also showed the competing philosophies employed by the rakugokas. Hikaru, the in-universe VA who performed before Akane, performed for herself. Akane performed for the audience. For our protagonist, this is a high bar to clear if she needed to win. Not only she had to perform “Jugemu”, but also do it right after the two presumptive winners of the Karaku cup.

- Comment on Use of Japanese anime and manga for AI training is a "serious issue that undermines creators' rights," CODA warns tech companies 1 week ago:
Copyright law was made by those in power to protect the idea of intellectual property, but clearly they are willing to ignore their own rules at the first convenience.
It’s almost as if it’s they’re not laid out for the artists’ and consumers’ benefit. The only positive I can see from this is to demonstrate that a lot of claims of monetary harm are bogus.

Ryumon’s name Mitsuhide is likely a reference to Akechi Mitsuhide, a Tokugawa-era general, briefly shōgun, and popular character in historical dramas.

It’s our boi Qifrey!
I already resolved to seasonally watch Akane-banashi instead of WHA (mainly because I loved Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju in the past, and partially about saving the best things for later too), but I checked some scenes. It does not disappoint. Good job on CR for making this a simuldub.
I think this is the first anime where I find the English dub vastly superior to the Japanese dub. Hanae Natsuki is a superb VA. I also opine he’s a mismatch to Qifrey.

- Comment on "Your Letter" Manhwa Anime MOVIE Officially Announced by CoMix Wave Films 2 months ago:
The latest installment in the “Your” series, Your Letter. Trailer
Observations
- The usual CoMix Wave quality is there. The bar they set is very high
- Like Flavors of Youth, it has a non-Japanese source material (Korean)
- With a Korean source material, I can’t help but think if Lost in Starlight has some influence in it (LiS, in turn, was likely influenced by CoMix Wave’s own Weathering With You)
- Korean VAs are still not up to par with Japanese VAs in terms of the acting itself and how their voices are mixed; considering the setting, it’s overall a good thing that it is the original audio.
