Comment on Small children are well known to be afraid of voids (closets, under the bed) in their sleeping area. Knowing this, why don't we design children's rooms to eliminate them?

What about putting the bed on the floor and a shelf above it? Feel like that would be cozy to a child and leave only one direction for threats to come from.
