frey@lemmy.world 1 week agoFamily layer is togglable, and if your family members enabled sharing not just position but also location history, you’ll see their tracks. Not timelines though, I never thought about such a use case 🧐

Imagine if you can’t find your loved one for some reason, car crash, or out of gas and they can’t communicate (no reception, dead battery). Having quick access to their timeline facilitates a fast response.
These kind of apps have a ton of value for emergencies and the overall security of a family.
