Comment on PieFed, a FOSS Feed Aggregator alternative to Lemmy, but faster
hendrik@palaver.p3x.de 4 days agoAh, I didn't know. I've never ran my own Lemmy instance. I just found out after installing Piefed, that content doesn't appear on it's own. I had to go ahead and add some communities manually.

I think that’s a deliberate decision, one of the benefits being that a new server doesn’t destroy itself by immediately trying to download the entire history of the fediverse!
