Desktop notifications used to work for gnome here. IIRC they only notify about toplevels because otherwise it was too much...

    I have also tested on my second Hubzilla account on hubzilla.de. Same result, no notifications.
    
    Are there any Hubzilla settings to tweak?

    @Mario Vavti Then someone else's starter post in this forum should trigger a notification, right? But it doesn't. And it also doesn't notify starts of new private conversations.
