Comment on anime gacha sub moment

The above is a link to a post in the stardew valley subreddit, which was laudered as one of the most accepting and chill communities on Reddit
The post was made before the great “fuck u/Spez” debacle, so before every decent individual left
In it, I compare an anime version mod that changes a “MILF”'s portrait (their words, not mine)
In it, I’m lambasted as being called a “pedo” and “liking 15yo girls”
Yes, actual pedophilia is bad, but I’d argue people who witch hunt drawings, which aren’t hurting anybody, have way too much collateral like the above to even be considered a good thing to uphold. They ultimately achieve nothing other than patting themselves on the back for screeching at an innocent individual
So yes, I understand why the people in the screenshot acted the way they did. Because this post is what happens when the numbers skew the wrong way

That sucks and I’m sorry that happened but I’d say being falsely accused of being a ped because of an inoffensive change in artstyle is pretty different than someone expressing their discontent with weirdo behavior and someone coming in and saying “So what? We’re into this shit and so are the devs, fuck off with your morals and go bitch somewhere else normie tourist.”
Honestly the drawings are one thing but the main problem are people who try to convince you it isn’t weird to form their sexuality around fictional middle schoolers, either through denial, saying it’s irony, or worse yet embracing it once they find a like-minded community. Like, buddy(not you but some guy I’m reminiscing about), you wank to it that means you like it. That’s it. You can’t argue that. Not saying that you’re gonna be snatching kids the next day or anything but it’s not helping your case against it.

The people in the post are literally doing the exact thing you were admonishing. It’s very hypocritical to say this behaviour is “pretty different”
