Comment on WhatsApp is adding the ability to save contacts within the app independently from your smartphone’s address book.

Wait is this a feature that people want? Won’t that get confusing because you’ll have two different contact lists except the WhatsApp one will be a subset of the phone one.

Also at this point I’ve got all my contacts sorted out so I’m not going to use the feature. This would have needed to have been added at the beginning.

It allows you to use WhatsApp without giving them full access to your contacts, so privacy wise I do want this feature
