Comment on On August 25th 1944 Paris was liberated from Nazi control by the Allied powers. For the first 5 days of fighting Free France fighters fought the Nazis alone until reinforcements could arrive.

Also from what I have read, between France being liberated and the government was reinstated, the French people also persecuted the French traitors that aided the nazi during the occupation.
