Since PugJesus isn’t around any more I will take up their mantle and write the context of historical memes in the comments.
Context: There were two popes and a group of cardinals elected a third and then there were three.

“Like a dog watching tv” - supposedly comes from old west virginia moonshiners, but the person who told me that has a complicated relationship with the truth so allow me to share with you the grain of salt I take that attribution with. It indicates that somebody has absolutely no clue what is going on, but they are enjoying themselves
