I haven’t read the novel, but having read most of the manga and watching the first episode, they match up pretty closely and I don’t remember anything like you describe in the manga. It is a pretty safe, by-the-books isekai.

That’s a shame. The guys off the walls line of thinking is what makes the novel unique among the sea of isekai.
