halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 1 day agoYou think that will stop them? They’ll just do it and pay a comparatively small fine to the government in a decade after they get around to investigating it. And that’s the best case scenario. More realistically nothing will ever happen.

That won’t stop them either. They’ll just use it anyway. These companies never delete anything they might be able to use. At least not willingly.
