- Comment on How I imagine those crying "i tHouGHT StAr Trek WAs suPPosEd tO bE a UtOPia" 3 days ago:
It would be even better if in addition the borg only offered assimilation to individuals by choice, defending their right to join with overwhelming force and leaving everyone else alone. There would be a whole moral to-do about prisoners choosing the collective and the borg showing up to get them and then the Starfleet people who are lonely decide to go and then someone thinks they need to save one of those people so they go in with a plan to destroy the collective from within but realize that everyone is there by choice and they have the option to leave but don’t.
- Comment on Why do they turn Federation into a dystopia? 3 days ago:
Because the federation changes over time, there are good times and bad. One of the core values in many Star Trek stories is redemption through change, it’s the central idea of this one.
Also because the federation is an allegory for whatever real world good guy alliance you believe in and fascist elements coming and going from the federation are a commentary on the real world.

Nowhere, but I’ve bought prints locally that are really nice that come from people on patreon… Lol but I forgot the names :(
- Comment on Designed a simple photo frame on FreeCad. Why are some layers peeling in my print? 2 weeks ago:
Hopefully this isn’t a common problem, but I was running auto bed leveling manually, the getting failed prints because I didn’t save the levelling results to the printer and I didn’t have gcode to load the levelling data and enable it in my slicer settings.
Maybe something similar is happening to you.
You can also try disabling auto leveling and level manually, that was giving me better prints for a while but it’s a pain.

- Comment on Looking to buy a cheap but best first 3d printer. Ender3 V3, CR-10 SE, or something else? 2 months ago:
Not a mistake, I’ve got an ender 3 and a cr10. Both are fine, keep your expectations realistic and calibrate each axis, especially the extruders. Use PLA, consider getting a new build plate if your prints won’t stick. I recommend flashing firmware on the ender 3 unless you know what was loaded onto it last, doesn’t have to be fancy firmware just something you know for sure is configured for your printer. A cr10 should probably get firmware as well but I never loaded new firmware on mine and the controller is older so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea.
Don’t forget the cost of filament, if you print a lot you may spend more on filament in a year that your printer budget.

For me the tinkering is part of the fun, so old beat up ender 3s are perfect. If you want something ready to go, even a brand new ender 3 won’t give you that 🤣

It’s okay to cry, but also keep going until you figure it out, and watch freecad tutorial videos. I think learning how to cad on freecad is a nightmare, but once you know how things are supposed to be built it works well.

- Comment on Shit like this is why we need open source printers! 5 months ago:
We wouldn’t need to reinvent the printer, just replace the computer in it. It wouldn’t be completely open source but it would be cheap.
Also, maybe we can make inkjet resin 3d printers
